This Thursday, March 28 is a National Day of Action!
March 28th is a National Day to Demand Action with Organizing For America, Mayors Against Illegal Guns and others to make sure Congress hears that now is the time to pass common sense gun legislation that will save lives. Senators will be at home for the Easter/Passover recess, and they are likely to vote on gun legislation in early April. They need to hear from the millions of Americans who demand action to stop gun violence. That’s why Mayors Against Illegal Guns is staging more than 100 events around the country on March 28 with mayors, law enforcement leaders, faith leaders, gun violence survivors, and other Americans who want Congress to strengthen our background check system and reduce gun violence.
It’s probable that the Senate will take up the gun reform bills the week of April 8 when Congress comes back from their 2-week spring recess. Our CA Senators Boxer and Feinstein support the President’s proposals. Here is a list of key Senators that need to hear from their constituents. Forward this e-mail and to family or friends in these states and ASK them to call their Senators and tell them to SUPPORT the President’s gun reform bills. Every call counts! Thank you!
